- December 2, 2011 - Initial application deadline.
- January 6, 2012 – a maximum of 10 people from each institution will be selected from the December 1 applicants. The selected students will be required to submit,
- A one page executive summary of their ideas from the topic they chose in December
- An outline of their presentation
- Between January 6th and January 27, 2012, each institution will conduct their own "run off" to get the maximum of 10 people down to 3 finalists.
- At this time, students will be required to present their topic to an internal panel
- By January 27, 2012, three finalists from each institution must be selected with an updated version of their presentation and executive summary. This information will then be sent to the sponsors. The sponsors will then forward the information off to the respective judges.
- February 3, 2012, Final round competition hosted at Algonquin College.
- During this time there will be a maximum 15 minute presentation by each student, 10 minutes of Q and A by the judges, and a 10 minute deliberation by judges.
- February 3, 2012 The Awards Gala will be held at Algonquin College. This will be a networking event where the winners will be announce and there will be a key note address from an industry leader chosen by the Sponsors.
